Under the direction of Dr. Kenneth O. Johnson, we are developing a 400-element tactile display for research into the spatial-response properties of cortical neurons in the finger areas of the somatosensory cortex. Preliminary psychophysical and peripheral afferent experiments were conducted in the Winter and Spring of '97.
