SensAble Technologies, maker of the PHANToM haptic interface, is a company dedicate dedicated to bringing 3D Touch to the Desktop. The PHANToM system simulates touch throught the operation of a high resolution motor/encoder assembly, which provides force feedback in 3 DOF, or degrees of freedom (x,y,&z). Applications for the PHANToM device are really any hands-on apps which require a high degree of precision & interaction through the computer.
